PROBUS CLUB

The Kimpton Probus Club was formed in February 2000. It is a club for Kimpton men who are retired or semi retired to relax and enjoy good fellowship. We meet monthly in the village at the Dacre Rooms (from August 2008) for coffee and a talk from an outside speaker, or indeed from one of our members, lasting approximately one hour. Following the meeting we adjourn to the White Horse for an (optional) lunch and to enjoy a drink and a chat amongst other members.

Since our formation we have enjoyed a wide range of speakers and recent subjects of the talks have included : Historical Anecdotes of Kimpton; Auctioneering; Organisation of the Fire Brigade for major disasters; St Albans Abbey and Scuba Diving. We also undertake occasional outings, the most recent being to the Royal Horticultural Gardens at Wisley that included a guided tour. Future visits will include a guided tour of a well known brewery. Also, in December each year we have a Christmas Lunch and in February we hold an Annual Dinner where our wives are invited to join us.

We still have a few vacancies for new members, so if you think you may be interested in joining us why not contact one of the Committee below or get an existing member to bring you along as a guest.
