CONTEMPLATIVE PRAYER GROUP

The desire to open our hearts to the Spirit of God is God’s gift to us;  and meeting with others to share a time of prayerful stillness and silence can encourage and strengthen that desire. It is an ancient form of prayer that has proved helpful across cultures and Christian denominations.

We do not embark on contemplative prayer to experience God, to have holy feelings, to advance in prayer, to lead a better life. Some or all of these things may indeed happen. But when we come to God in stillness and silence, we lay aside all else:  we are available and open for God to do as He wills. Why? Because God is God, and His work calls to the human heart. He is in all things and always meets us where we are.

We meet from 8.30 - 9.15pm at 50 Parkfield Crescent on the first and third Wednesdays of each month from September through to April.

If you would like to know more and/or come along one Wednesday, please do give me a ring on 832733.
